Overview Bert Horrell was born in Gore in 1917. Describes how his grandfather emigrated to New Zealand in the 1880s. Talks about their farm across the Mataura River and the difficulty of crossing it to get to school. Overview In this interview Reginald starts his story in the 1940s around Gore/Mataura looking at general living, farming practices and culture of the times. He talks of his interest in rugby and support of Pirates Rugby Club.
